The International Symposium on Statistical Process Control will be organized by the SLP (Systèmes Logistiques et de Production) research group of the IRCCyN UMR CNRS 6597 and will take place at the Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Nantes based in Carquefou (a typical french village in the suburb of Nantes), July Thursday 16 - Friday 17, 2009.

Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Nantes

The Institut Universitaire de Technologie de Nantes (IUT de Nantes, in short), created in 1967, can be considered as a "College of Engineering" of the Université de Nantes. The IUT de Nantes has 7 departments: Quality & Logistics, Mechanics, Thermics & Environment, Materials, Electronics, Computer Sciences and Accounting. Below (left to right) are the south side and the east side (also the main entrance).

Nantes and Carquefou

Located in the west side of France, along the Loire river and close to the Atlantic ocean, Nantes is the 6th french largest city (see the picture at the top of this page). Nantes can be easily reached either by plane (55min) or by TGV, i.e. high speed train (3 hours) from Paris/Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle Airport. There are many things to say about this nice, quiet and green city. If you want to know more about it, do not hesitate to take a look at this wikipedia web site written in english. There is another city also called "Nantes" in the São Paulo state, Brazil but, of course, this one should not be confounded with the french original one. Below (left to right) are the Royale Place, the LU tower, the Crébillon street (not New York's flat iron), the Pommeray's Passage and the Castle.

The IUT de Nantes is located in Carquefou a charming and quiet 17000 inhabitants village in the north suburb of Nantes. Below (left to right) are the church, a nice walking area and a pond close to the IUT de Nantes.
